Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Karen has been a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner since 2007, and has significant experience in emergency and hospital medicine. Taking care of acutely ill people with chronic diseases for so long has piqued her interest in how to identify and address the root causes of not only illness, but also why a person just doesn’t feel the best they can. She has always been fascinated with the relationship of lifestyle and a person’s health, and is in the process of obtaining her Functional Medicine certification through the Institute for Functional Medicine. Her goal is simple: to help people feel their best, whether that means improving metabolic health, losing weight, or optimizing athletic and exercise performance.
Karen is from a tiny town in Nebraska and moved to the Newton area in the early 2000s. She is married to Cory, and they have a daughter and a son who are involved in high school athletics and academic activities. They also have a very large St. Bernard. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and being in nature, reading, and training for body building.

Inspired by her personal health journey, Barb has dedicated the past 12 years to studying nutrition and other aspects of Functional Medicine. She has extensive training, including certifications from the Institute for Functional Medicine and DNA Life. Her areas of special interest include autoimmunity, brain health, and optimizing overall health and longevity.
Barb is from a small town in Kansas and lives in Wichita with her husband, Kyle, their 3 children, and 2 dogs. In her free time she enjoys being involved in her church and kids’ school, practicing yoga and lifting weights, spending time in nature with her family, reading, as well as cooking healthy versions of her favorite foods.

In 2020 she was inspired to become a Health Coach after her own personal health journey. Bri believes that everyone is able to identify and reach their ideal vision of health with some accountability and support. She is eager to help you on your journey to wellness. She is also excited to be administering vitamin IV infusions and injections to further aid you in achieving your goals.
Bri moved to Hesston from Kansas City in 2014. She is married to Shannon and they have 3 children, two girls and a boy who keep them very busy with their extra curricular activities. John 10:10
Functional Medicine (FM) is a science based, personalized, holistic healthcare approach that focuses on identifying and treating the root cause of illness. Through the lens of FM, our goal is to help you get well and stay well through treating the root cause of your symptoms. Only treating symptoms of disease will rarely lead to sustainable wellness, and contributes to the revolving door of disease and episodic dysfunction. Instead of waiting for things to become “bad enough” to diagnose and treat, we work with you to take proactive, targeted action now.
Our goal for you is health, not management of disease.
